Why should all the adventure just be for grownups? This year the Brewha Bushwhack festival will have a brand new element that is just for kids.Â
The Pack Rat Kid Quest is designed for ages 8-12 years old, and takes components of the bushwhack adventure race, and scales them down to wilderness challenges for up-and-coming adventurers.
This is a real quest of outdoor skills and knowledge, and will include:
- Map & Compass Navigation

- Knot Tying
-
- Emergency Shelters
-
- Fire Starting
-
- Signaling
-
- Nature Identification
-
- Off trail hiking

Kids must have a parent or guardian with them at all times to participate in this event. Everyone must be prepared to hike at least 2 miles, and be ready to get wet and muddy feet. Our goal is to educate, challenge, and empower kids by helping them learn new outdoor skills. In order to participate, each kid or group of kids will need the following:
- Weather appropriate clothing for 1-2 hours outside

- Small backpack

- 1L water bottle full of water

- Baseplate compass (ex. silva starter)

- SnacksÂ

Cost: $30 (includes access to the rest of the festival as well). Please note that parents guardians will need to buy a separate Festival Ticket if they want to attend the festival. If you are only doing the Kid s Quest, you do not need to purchase a Festival Ticket.
Space is limited to 40 participants!
Festival opens at 12pm
Kid quest start times are between 1-3pm. You are welcome to start any time between 1 & 3, but the event will conclude at 5pm!
*Children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
** Please note that parents wishing to enjoy the Brewha Bushwhack Festival need to purchase a separate Festival Ticket. If you want to only participate in the Kid s Quest, but not the festival, you do not need to purchase a Festival Ticket.
*Please note, this is a rain-or-shine event.We will not be able to provide refunds after March 26th, 2024.
